1) PLP has been the leading provider of properly formatted royalty free loops for
over ten years. The company was founded by Jason Donnelly (Dj Puzzle) after he lost
his job at Sonic Foundry December of 2000 when the company downsized. Jason was part
of the Sound Development team. He was responsible for editing and formatting loops
for Acid Pro. This is where he learned the importance of robust metadata such as
root note, number of bars, and stretch markers. Sonic Foundry was the first company
to offer pre edited loops ready to go. All the other sound companies were still
selling their sample CDs. Sample CDs back then had to be ripped to audio first into
your PC and then edited into a perfect loop. This is what put Sonic Foundry in the

PLP has eight loop releases with Sony Creative. For more info visit

Jason started Peace Love Productions shortly after his experience with Sonic Foundry
. PLP was the second company to offer pre-edited and formatted loops. PLP had one
goal in mind and that was to provide producers with affordable easy to use royalty
free loops.

Many new labels and distributors have popped up over the past few years but few
still understand the importance of delivering a product that is properly formatted.
Many of the same products that get sold on other sites aren't formatted at all. In
fact, some sites are basically like a discount warehouse of sound. They don't check
to make sure third party labels are formatting their products. PLP still to this day
will check every loop that comes in. Most of the time they come in un-formatted and
the PLP team will spend hours preparing them just for you.

PLP chooses their labels because they like what they hear and to PLP it is worth the
extra time to fix these files. Many of the THIRD party titles on PLP are also
available on other sites but they are just added to those sites blindly without
getting checked by a professional audio engineer for formatting. You will not find
that on PLP.

2) PLP loops are not over produced. PLP sounds are very raw. This gives you the
producer more control over crafting these sounds into something of your own. Most of
the new labels these days provide over produced over compressed and over EQ'd
samples. You're pretty much stuck in a box with those sounds and you're going to
sound like thousands of other producers who use the same exact sample packs. PLP
sounds are truly unique and very underground.

3) PLP has been providing 20 free loops every month for the past 10 years! Thank you
for subscribing to PLP!

What is file formatting? First a loop is brought into Acid Pro. It's checked to make
sure it is set to loop or oneshot depending on whether it is a loop or not. Then
checked to make sure the root note is there. Then we check to make sure it has the
right number of bars/beats so that the stretch tempo is properly set. The final
check is to make sure the stretch markers are in place.

The next step is to check the files in the Apple-looping utility. Most of the
ACIDization data is transferable so all that really needs to be done here is to save
the files from the utility as a .aiff file. Additional metadata is added. Data such
as genre, instrument, mood, etc.

Finally the loops get recycled using Propellerheads Recycle. Most loops will get a
slice at the attack of every note or hit aka the beginning of each transient. No
more than 1-2 slices are added if a sound is a long ambient soundscape or sustained
bass tone. The number of beats are check to make sure they are correct along with
the tempo to make sure it is correct.

Happy music making from PLP!

j-nitrous / in my head

A great track to share from J-Nitrous:

J.Nitrous – In My Head (FREE DOWNLOAD) by J.Nitrous

Since 2003, J.Nitrous (James Burchett) has been heading against the grain and shaping his own unique style of music. Hailing from the secluded outback of Australia, J.Nitrous has managed to gain a loyal following of screaming dubstep fans from around the world.

J.Nitrous’ most recent musical ventures have driven him to create epic rave-crunk infused monster music. For those who have not yet witnessed a live DJ set from him, you can feel the same intense emotions pouring out of his tracks “Lost On Earth” and his epic remix of “We Are The Dead” by Does It Offend You, Yeah?

In 2010, J.Nitrous gave birth to his own imprint; Hypnosis Recordings which is focussing on releasing and pushing only the best of the best in electronic music. Already creating huge waves with the debut release “Say You Need Me”, the label is guaranteed to stand out from the rest. Other artists releasing with Hypnosis Recordings in 2011 are Shakes, SPL, Killswitch, Droid Sector, Boot, Morocha, Matta and more.

Receiving DJ support from the likes of Doctor P, Flux Pavilion, Excision and recently signing to the highly regarded Paradise Lost Recordings firm, you can only expect the best, heart stopping music from J.Nitrous.

Hopi Elders Statement

Posted on 21st August 2011 by Brett Caporn (LRRecords) in web - Tags: , , ,

“You have been telling people that this is the eleventh hour.
Now you must go back and tell people that this is the hour!
And there are things to be considered:
Where are you living?
What are you doing?
What are your relationships?
Are you in right relation?
Where is your water?
Know your Garden.
It is time to speak your truth.
Create your community.
Be good to yourself.
And not look outside of yourself for a leader.
This could be a good time!
There is a river flowing very fast.
It is so great and fast that there are those who will be afraid.
They will hold on to the shore.
They will feel that they are being torn apart, and they will suffer greatly.
Know that the river has its destination.
The elders say that we must let go of the shore,
push off into the middle of the river,
keep our eyes open,
and our heads above the water.
See who is in there with you and celebrate.
At this time we are to take nothing personally,
least of all, ourselves.
For the moment that we do,
our spiritual growth comes to a halt.
The time of the lone wolf is over.
Gather yourselves!
Banish the word struggle from your attitude and your vocabulary.
All that we do now must be done in a sacred manner and in celebration.
We are the ones that we have been waiting for.”

13 Moon Natural Calendar

Posted on 21st August 2011 by Brett Caporn (LRRecords) in must see must do - Tags: , , , , , , , ,

What is the 13 Moon Calendar?

The 13 Moon, 28-day calendar is a new standard of time for all people everywhere who desire a genuinely new world. If the calendar and time we follow is irregular, artificial and mechanized, so becomes our mind. As is our mind, so our world becomes, as is our world today: Irregular, artificial and mechanized. But if the calendar we follow is harmonic and in tune with natural cycles, so also will our mind become, and so we may return to a way of life more spiritual and in harmony with nature.

The 13 Moon calendar synchronizes solar and galactic cycles on July 26 correlating with the star Sirius.  Each of the 13 moons has a power, action, and quality which define an annual program to synchronize our consciousness with the galactic cycles.

As a perfect measure of cosmic time, this calendar is actually a synchronometer, an instrument for measuring synchronicity. Followed daily, it gives us a new lens in which to perceive events. In the New Time, synchronicity is the norm.

The 13 Moon 28-day synchronometer is a harmonic timespace matrix. It takes the moon 28 days to orbit the Earth; it makes this orbit 13 times each year. The standard of measure is the 28-day cycle, called a moon, because it is the median between the 29.5-day synodic cycle of the moon (new moon to new moon) and the 27.1-day sidereal cycle of the moon. Hence, it is a measure of Earth’s solar orbit using the 28-day lunar standard. This creates a perfect orbital measure of 13 moons of 28 days, totaling 364 days, or 52 perfect weeks of 7 days each. Because the 365th day is no day of the moon or week at all, it is known as the day out of time” – a day to celebrate peace through culture and time is art!

“The Thirteen Moon calendar is an evolutionary tool to assist humanity in the unprecedented act of uniting itself on one issue central to its complete well-being: time. The harmonic convergence of humanity on this one issue, combined with the inescapable order, perfection and simplicity of following the 13 Moon calendar will lift the species as a simultaneous whole into the galactic timing frequency of 13:20.”

José Argüelles/Valum Votan, The Call of Pacal Votan

Prayer of the
7 Galactic Directions

From the East, House of Light,
may wisdom dawn in us so we may see all things in clarity.

From the North, House of Night,
may wisdom ripen in us so we may know all from within.

From the West, House of Transformation,
may wisdom be transformed into right action, so we may do what must be done.

From the South, House of the Eternal Sun,
may right action reap the harvest so we may enjoy the fruits of planetary being.

From Above, House of Heaven,
may star people and ancestors be with us now.

From Below, House of Earth,
may the heartbeat of her crystal core bless us with harmonies to end all war.

From the Center, Galactic Source,
which is everywhere at once, may everything be known as the light of mutual love.

*Oh Yum, Hunab Ku, Evam Maya E Ma Ho!
Oh Yum, Hunab Ku, Evam Maya E Ma Ho!
Oh Yum, Hunab Ku, Evam Maya E Ma Ho!

*this means “Oh mother, source – the harmony of mind and nature – isn’t it wonderful?
This phrase combines Mayan and Tibetan language.

yeah dubbers…

KULCHA has secured the WA premiere screening of the extraordinary new documentary on the father of reggae – Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry. The Upsetter tells the fascinating story of Perry, an eccentric genius

from poor rural Jamaica who pioneered the dub and reggae music genres. He was a mentor to Bob Marley and an inspiration to artists such as The Clash and Paul McCartney. Narrated by Benicio Del Toro, the documentary charts 70 years in the life of Perry in his own words through an exclusive interview given to American filmmakers, Ethan Higbee and Adam Bhala Lough. It is equally a documentation

of Jamaican music and culture. Acknowledging the Jamaican Independence Day will be DJ Aswon playing sets before and after the screening.
